Yeah good point sondra, but the s2k is a stand alone car, meaning there are no special editions (unless your counting the 50 or so special "type r's" made. There may have only been 7500 made of the special edition....but there are also 50 billion regular miatas made. I agree now that this car may in fact be more "rare" then i initially stated.

What sets this thing apart from a regular miata besides the badge?
Not much besides it being the first miata with 6 speed trans. Also little blue accents here and there, bilstein shocks, nardi wheel and shift knob, torsen lsd, etc. etc.

A whole lot of worthy goodies. You might want to look it up and make sure you've got the facts before you slam it as unworthy.

And there are no "Type R" S2000's. What you see is what you get unless you modify it yourself.

1. Slam? What are you a poet? Dont be so dramatic

2. There is a special edition s2000 out there, its a special "vtec" version. The steering wheel alone sold for 1800 bucks on ebay. Honda gave it a tuned up suspension, and bonus features. Ill find it for you.....

I'd *love* to see your source. The only variant of an S2000 that Honda produced was the VGS, which was a variable geared steering system, and it was only released in Japan. It had a different steering wheel, which, because the splines that hold it to the column are different, is not compatible with US market S2000's. If someone paid $1800 for one on eBay, they, too, should have done some homework, but the saying *does* go that a fool and his money are soon parting.

P.S. Those who went with me to the Honda factory in Japan and were part of the press conference with the Honda engineers who designed the car can back me on this. We all saw and got to drive a VGS, and in fact, there was an article written about our visit in the Japanese motoring magazine XaCar.
