Default Got my car back- Still some issues.

Hello all,

I have been away for quite some time because 2 months back I spun out and hit a curb, slid up a grass embankment and took out a little crepe myrtle tree. I immediately took it to Jeff's Auto Body, mostly due to the great reputation that they carry amongst the community.

$10K (thanks allstate) and two months later I get my baby back. They replaced the bumper, door, front fenders, fixed some of the suspension, and repainted 3/4" of the car.

The body work looks great, and the panel fitment is awesome. But when driving I did notice that there is a lot more slop in turns. Feels like the front suspension both L and R are much softer and sloppier than before. The only thing that they replaced, suspension-wise in the front was the left side knuckle. It feels as if the car is more "floaty", less precise in turns and steering. Probably something needs to be tightened.

There were some other ticky-tack things that I need to take it back for (overspray on the soft top, pwr. mirror not working), but did expect a job of this size to not be perfect the first time out.

Does anyone know how responsive is Jeff's Auto Body is with warranty related work? Are the timely about it? The only major qualm that I had with them is that they are very slow with their work. I can't be out of a car for more than a few days this time as I don't have a backup car.

Well I just thought I would post this up as a reference for those who are thinking about getting body work done.

Hope to see y'all out there at the next group drive when everything is fixed!

Arun

Arun, they have always been very responsive when it comes to fixing things that weren't right the first time. I've been very impressed with them.

I'm glad they did a good job! My car was in there for 2 1/2 weeks for just a bumper cover replacement and repaint, but they kept having to fight with State Farm and reorder the cover repeatedly (they kept coming in damaged), which made it take a lot longer than it should have. They did a great job on mine too!

Sounds to me like it might just be a bad alignment... A friend of mine recently had his car slid into a curb by somebody else and it felt REALLY weird when he got it back; very inconsistent, the car would pull one direction when on-throttle and another direction off-throttle... He took it back and after another alignment, it was okay after that...

I got lucky, Allstate was very timely with the claims, quick response and good services. I think Jeff's was a bit overbooked when I first brought it in. It took them almost 1 1/2 weeks to look at it.

I guess since it was my first claim, Allstate was leaneant.
