I've installed a Comptech intake before for a guy that used to live here in San Antonio... I know you have to re-route some vacuum lines going to the intake and there is a nut that you have to insert into the RF frame rail that's a little tricky; the rest of the install is pretty straightforward.

What exactly does step 3 tell you to do? I don't remember the instruction sheet from memory, as I did the install about 3 years ago.

thanks Cayman83, but yeah I am in austin
thanks Ricky, yeah after another 4 hrs i figured out how to do the vaccum rerouting.
so Now everything is on the car.
BUT man Comptech intake have the worst fitment that I ever encoutered. I could not get all 3 screws to fit and the carbon fiber lids 3 screw only 2 will line up.
fitment is just really bad overall.
I wonder if i should bring it to a shop and tell then to try and get a perfect fit.

the comptech intake was my 1st upgrade ( good choice btw )
it was a long time ago, now correct me if I'm wrong but under the comptech housing you should have 2 line ( for the a/c) if you trim the spot in which the housing is touching, it should lower the housing a little bit, this will save the cover ( fivergrass) from rubbing with one of the plug of the hood. which you could take off to prevent any damage from the plastic plug too. just make your mark the right spot on the rubber cover off the a/c lines. you could use any powder or armor all ( that's what I used ) and press down to leave marks on the hoses..

Good luck

I thought the Comptech intake was very well put together. The fitment was VERY exact and you had to be really careful to get it right. The cover does tend to rub on the hood a little bit if you're not careful. You can minimize it to where the rubbing is barely noticeable, but I don't think you can get it completely perfect; that's about the only part of the kit I didn't like when I installed it on Vivek's car.

Take your time with installing it... If something isn't fitting right, there's probably a very good reason. There were several times I looked at it and said, "Damn, this fitment sucks" but after I took some extra time to make sure everything was right, it actually fit really well, minus some very minor rubbing on the underside of the hood.
