Default i would like some help!

well i was driving home the other day really late and no one was on the road, so i felt like having some fun. i down shifted to 2nd floored it and when i hit 9K i shifted to 3rd and my clutch slipped bad. when i got home all i could smell was burnt clutch. i have been driving the car like a grandpa since then until today. its hard for me to drive my S slow ha ha. i drove it hard on babcock rd (outside 1604) and everything seemed fine. so i am just confused on whether i need a new clutch or not. the car has now 101300 miles on a 2003 and it has the OE clutch well i think it does. i bought the car with 53k on it. if so i need a clutch what would be a good clutch for my s2k. i was think MAYBE a stage 1?

also i want to do the hood cut outs on my S but i dont know who can do it? im too pussy to do it myself ha ha. thanks for the help!

Unless you plan on doing FI i dont see why not stick to the stock clutch. Stock clutch is pretty good IMO...

It all depends on the driver.. ive read 50k, 70k, 100k+, but again its all in the driving.

Yeah if you guys need help doing a clutch I know how and can help. OEM is fine unless you have a goal in mind for the future as far as boost.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. Mine S did the same thing even with low mileage. I think it has to do with the delay valve in the hydraulic clutch. Just adjust the driving style and reduce the power shifting. Although, your mileage is over 100k, so there may be a clutch job in your future.

His car is a AP1 tho no delay in those cars. AP2 are the ones with that stupid delay.

hey as for your hood mod, i know a shop and even got a quote from them on that....the shop is called sideways autosaloon...they are a custom shop in austin. i actually met the owner at a car meet when he was standing next to a NFR S2000. he quoted me, i believe, an hour of labor and it was like 75-125?? idk man....but it was cheap enough for me to buy the mesh cut outs from one of our s2kers on here...i dont think i want to do that mod though....something about cutting up the hood i see complicating a potential resale down the line. as for the clutch swap, id like to know who is willing on that as well, and the damage associated . im not at that stage, but with 86k on the clock and not knowing if the clutch has been replaced, i might be in for a ride.

back to the shop though, i actually printed a DIY i found on the forum and showed them the pictures and the underside of the hood so i can suspect they know how easy the job is. i just was not comfortable doing that myself
