local tuning solutions
Just wondering what shop/shops you guys use for tuning your cars. I'm planning on running either a vafc2 or an aem ems (just depends on what the wallet and wife allows lol) and have begun doing some research into local shops. I can't find anything substantial and worse case scenario ill take it to jtran studios in Houston, but if you guys have any recommendations please shoot them my way. I spoke to a guy yesterday, with a turbo s, that said precision R recommended street tunes for his set up, so that sort of made them questionable on my list. Also any insight on the vafc2? I can't seem to find any information about it, except that all it really does it allow you to engage vtec at a more optimal point and reconfigure afr. If you can guide me to some write ups that would be awesome as well, the engine management section seems to be covers with full ems stuff, so any info on the vafc2 would be useful to me.
The car is an MY02 with I/H/E and test pipe.

Why would Precision R be questionable because it is a street tune....
A street tune is more inline for daily driving than a dyno tune which is mainly used for numbers per se....
I personally have a street tune with Precision R and Im boosted and I have no problems other than the piggyback management system Im on...
And honestly I believe you are kinda wasting money on a tune for just those mods that add maybe most 10-20whp...

Cool, let me know what you find. I have an Intake, Header, Highflow Cat, and Cat-back and will soon be getting a FlashPro to help the AFR tuning and maximize the power output of the mods. Lots of FlashPro uses on the 2006+ models rave about the added benefit of power output after a proper dyno so I'm curious to see your results. Actually I need to order the FlashPro this week to tune it in time for Nationals. Thanks!

That is awesome dfw.
Yeah I wish we could tune with flashpro, but it seems like a full ems or a piggyback is my only other option. I do plan on going turbo within a few years but I think a tune would be beneficial, even only to net 5-10hp. I could go ems, since I will be later anyways, but honestly I would rather spend the grand onmore track time as its the best mod of all.
How.much does precision r charge for their dyno?
