Mayor Watson takes charge
He has appointed inspectors to go out and look for any signs of price gouging or businesses trying to take advantage. This is reassuring!
Those found gouging face up to a $10,000 fine!

I noticed this morning that a Chevron station right across from where I work in Round Rock had raised their prices by 10 cents over night. By the time I left work tonight, they had returned to the prices they had last night. I guess I won't be purchasing any gas from the station in the future.
Also, did anybody see the Austin American Statesman (one of the worst newspapers I've ever seen, imho) selling their special issue at intersections all over the city last night? I was too disgusted with the thought of them profiting off of a tragedy like this to even ask what it cost, but I saw several people buying them and I know that I saw money changing hands.
