Default Move to Austin?

Hey y'all, do any of you know of, or know anyone who works at a dealership down in the Austin area? I'm looking for somewhere to either write service or do sales...I work for Sewell Automotive Group up in the DFW area, but I'm really wanting to get back down to the Central Texas area. Any help with connections would be greatly appreciated...

Join the crowd! Too many people want to live here relative to the supply of jobs. Good luck in your search.

Congrats. I guess it all depends on what field you're in, how much $$$ you're looking to make, who you know, etc.

If I lost my job, it would be hard to replace w/ one of comparable pay/scope in Austin.

I'm wondering too.

My first internship was in '99, so I've been in the IT field in various capacities since. Also I have a IT-related bachelor's degree and after numerous applications, my last (unsuccessful) interview involved driving a forklift within a warehouse.

Well I was looking to make more than I did on the east coast, and that's kinda hard I've been told just bc of the cost of living differences.

I ended up getting a head systems engineer job for an IT consulting firm. They topped my pay and also gave me a sick benefits plan.

I'm amazed they were even able to do better, not by much but it was perfect for me - given I'm moving in a year.

This was my 1st major move so I was really nervous about my value to companies or if I could make it with competition and the cost of my worth. But all I got to say is - you
can do it - just keep on going for the goal. It took me 2 job interviews and then I settled for one of the offers.
