Default Moving to SA - Apt Help

Hi all,

I'm moving to San Antonio mid June. Will be driving there from D.C. in the S2K

Wanted to see if you guys/gals could recommend some apartment places. I will be working in Ft. Sam so i'll say a 15-20 minute commute without traffic would be ideal.

My budget is about $1200 for a 1 Bedroom...it doesn't need to be that expensive, but that would probably be the max i'd want to spend. I will be going on my house hunting trip from May 21-26.

Garage is a must and will help me narrow down the place I want to stay at.

EDIT:: Moving in Sept '11

You can find a 1 bedroom for way cheaper than that.... Good luck with the search, those area you mention are nice areas.... Currently i have a 2 bedroom 1 bath with a garage and pay $850.... But it would be a bit of a commute where im at to Ft Sam....

And i stongly suggest you get a garage with your Apt.... That should help you narrow your search a bit...

Do you mind listing the place or area where you live? or which area from the ones I listed would be more ideal for me.

I'm 25 & single and have no kids.

Thanks

I live at The Village of Hampton Cove on I10/Huebner. I don't have to deal with the Huebner traffic coming home from work because I turn in right at the Ancira dealership. I commuted from there to a place very close to Ft. Sam Houston and it only took 25 min or so in 8am traffic.

I'm currently paying $760 for a 1 bedroom, 667 sq ft apartment with an attached garage. You definitely want a garage in this city with an S2000. Even if you think the neighborhood is nice, the thieves WILL find you.

IMO the area near Ft. Sam Houston is a bit on the ghetto side, id try to be at least a 20-30 minute drive away from there.

but then again, this is my 2 cents and im still only a month in at living in San Antonio.

Sounds good, I'm open to all suggestions.

Is the downtown a good choice?
