So wait, the little bridges that hold the cam down snapped in half and allowed the cam to push itself away from the valve springs?

Did it wedge the camshaft in place so it wont turn? If thats the case the internals might be completely fine. That seems kinda strange the bridges would just break like that. Pull the plugs and shine a flashlight through to peek at the cylinders. You're not gonna get a great view, but if you move them through their strokes you'll see if any of them are severely damaged.

at this point you con just pull the head.

you didnt overheat the motor did you?

Go ahead and get a strait edge and just do a heck to see if the block is warped.

Sounds like an oil delivery/lubrication failure on the top end -- did the camshaft break? Might want to check the cam bearing surfaces as well...

That is so odd, I have never seen a cam cap break, I have seen some busted up engines too.

well the problem is that you are goin to have to pull the camshaft assembly out and replace all the holders... the reason why is they are all machined to the same bore on the bearing surface so just replacing 2 would affect it.... If i was in Texas right now i would sell you the brand new set that i have with new rockers you would just have to reuse the rocker shafts
