Default New to Austin

Hey CenTex. Just wanted to officially say hi to everyone here. I'm new to Austin and I just picked up an NFR -- I look forward to meeting all of you at the next meet!

BTW - any suggestions on locations for service around Austin (including dealerships)? Howdy Honda any good? What about shops for suspension, audio, or other installs?

Thanks!

For any suspension work, I see Bill Kim at Soulspeed.

I have an independant guy I use for audio, Brent Davison, and he is really, really good (and affordably priced, since he doesn't have to support a storefront). I have had limited dealings with local stereo shops: limited because I felt like they were trying to sell me vacation swampland in Florida everytime I went in to peruse stuff for my car.

PM me if you want Brent's number.

As far as service, various owners on this forum have had varied experiences at all of the dealers, though I personally haven't heard much bad about Howdy. I have a friend who used to be both an S2000 owner and a Howdy employee, so if you need a recommendation on who to talk to at Howdy to get good service, let me know and I'll ask him.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, with the shops you suggest.. how much did your work order cost you (and what was done? etc etc)

I do all my own maintenance and we often have tech days to help other people install stuff. As far as shops go, I've heard good things about MZM. Chris S has had work done there and always recommends them.

Well, he still recommends them, but they didn't do great work on his supercharger and he ended up having the s/c uninstalled and sold it because it never worked right.

I would recommend Bill Kim at Soul Speed and he can refer you to someone solid if it's work he can't do.
