This morning on the way to work, I got out of the pack of traffic I was in and had a REALLY long (about 2 miles) straight stretch of highway with almost no traffic on it ahead of me. I took off and got up to around 90-100mph, where I was just cruising along, when this C5 'vette gets on the highway. He moves into the left lane, where I was cruising, and sees me coming up on him pretty quickly. He nukes it and gets up to my speed, so I slowly start accelerating, and realize he's getting on it, now. I drop a couple gears and come up on him and stayed right there with him. I would assume at some point he went full throttle and we ended up getting to 135mph before we had to hit the brakes because of traffic up ahead. The look on his face was priceless when I ended up going around him later... He gave me one of those surprised and confused, "What the hell IS that thing??!" looks...
Admittedly, I was drafting off of him a little bit, but he was still surprised that he couldn't lose this "little 4-banger Honda" up to 135mph.
This was a very similar reaction as what the C4 'vette gave me that thought he could pass me on the highway from 70-120 when I was in my green (turbo) CRX one day. Unfortunately, that guy was an a$$hole and passed 6 cars on the shoulder when he got frustrated. At that point, it's no longer fun, and the other guy becomes an idiot.

I know the feeling. It seems like the S2000 attracts those types of idiots. I had a guy come up to me at Sonic and ask if I wanted to race for $$$. He was driving a Z Vette. I declined.

He very well could have been at full throttle... I was drafting off of him....
He's using half his horsepower just to overcome wind resistance at 130+mph... I didn't have to.
But to me, it doesn't matter. The S2k isn't a highway racer, nor a stoplight racer. It's a fun car for the twisties that happens to have relatively decent acceleration. Even my friend in his NSX didn't want to keep up with me in some of the turns I took in the S2000, because the S2k is much more agile than even an NSX.

I drove my bosses NSX for a few hundred miles before getting my Honda. My "thoughts" are that the NSX is better at high speed than the Honda. The NSX just seems to love 100+ speeds. I am not nearly as comfortable in the Honda going that fast. You could drive that car at 100-130 all day long and its relaxing. Do that in the S2000 and you'll be worn out.
I think in the slower twisties that the S would be faster and more fun. Just easier to toss around.
My opinion.
