Most of us will be in College Station running at the JEH TWS event. If you would like to go, you should check and see if there are any spots left. I can tell you - this will be very beneficial to your driving skills - and just a lot of fun!

Indeed.

I am toying with the idea of going to spectate, but I don't know if I want to kill 3 or 4 hours of my weekend driving back and forth just to watch. What do you guys think? Is it worth the trip just to go and hang out for a little while? I assume there aren't any fees for spectators?

no fees at all. you are welcome to hang out with everyone (Dallas, Houston, Austin folk and others from all over) and converse, or even hitch a ride in an instructor's car. also.. if you do come out, try to come out around noon one of the days - then you can ride around on a parade lap. its two laps, taken at approximately 40mph..er... maybe up to 70mph - regardless, you get a feel of what the track is like, so its not too indimidating if you havent' been there before.
