I mean for the first time ever im gonna have a fat return check...i can get the j's exhaust 1500 (!) but i just cant feel right with paying that much for a exhaust...i hear the best hp gains are from the t1r70....so im getting that, and the ztec exhaust cap filler. t1r says 15hp from the exhuast dynoed on a 03 s2k.

As far as the T1r 70.....I am going that route myself and selling my invidia this weekend...and few other parts....

i am going a different direction to make this s2k truly unique...

 

The only thing about the t1r that concerns me is that i wont have a cat. I had no cat with my invidia setup and it was MEAN..it sounded mean, it was smelling mean, and it gave a fairly nice boost in power. But im concerned about the 02 sensor...i didnt like that my car was fooled before...it made me run really rich, and i was wondering if you just live life with a CEL and plug the 02 sensor in the catback when you install it...or how do you fix this?

 

Please don't take this the wrong way. I have to ask. Is this a mature decision to modify your car in a way that is illegal? Avoiding run-ins with the law would rate pretty high on the maturity scale in my opinion. Is causing harm to our environment and potentially to all those that breathe the air worth a modest performance gain?

I choose to run an exhaust that makes me happy without breaking the law. I'm not condemning your choice. However I question why you would choose to include an illegal act in a post about your maturity. At any rate be careful, there are several mobile emissions checkpoints of which I am aware in the San Antonio and Austin area. If you are caught you'll need more than your IRS refund.

As for remaining civil in our public forum I applaud your efforts. The community will always benefit if you choose to take the higher path.

 

i was considering the comptech for the same price....it would also cost less in the fact i would not have to purchase the ztec single gap exhaust outlet.

If you have ever sported a test pipe with a aftermarket catback system on the s2k....you will know why i want one .

When i have my invidia, and invidia testp pipe...the people at work thought the guy with the ninja 6r was coming down the street

Running w/ no cats is pretty selfish IMO. You can get plenty of performance w/o creating unnecessary pollution.

 

if your guna spend that much on a part why not get a stroker kit for an extra 500 keep your exhuast now and up the hp by 50s instead of 15hp to the wheels, just a thought. or if you want to go faster sooner what about a lighter flywheel + clutch combo or a final drive gear? or cams or free flowing headers n such lotsa choices
