Apartment living?

Apartment living?
Hey guys, I'm new to Houston and working in the medical center. I moved from DFW where cost of living was considerably cheaper. Any of you guys living in an apartment with a PRIVATE garage? So far I could only find one place near the galleria and it runs a bit under 1k a month for rent/garage : /. I'm not sure how I'd like owning an s2k and parking it in a closed parking lot.

Sounds about right. You will find cheaper in the suburbs but the places you are looking are will run you around 1k with garage. I live on the northside of town 2/1 with garage and 2 carports and i pay 800. You may find something cheaper closer to UofH but that area is not the best. May want to try an apartment finder. They may be able to help you better than us.

And to po, try har.com there are actually some decent home rentals. I've been looking at a few properties in the 800-1000 dollar range that homes or townhomes that have garages.

There are 5 around me and they are all about the same. There is a place down the road some that has attached garages. Good spot if you need to go near downtown. Park and ride/metro is 2 miles from here.

Thing that sucks about working in Houston...you're either gonna pay a shitload of money to live close to work or pay not so much, live in a suburb and commute in Houston traffic...
I have a 1BR, and a personal garage in pearland for ~700/mo

All i can say is do not get a place where your car will be parked outside. I just got my car broken into a few weeks ago outside my apartment in Conroe. needless to say i am now moving to some nicer ones that have a garage. Slashed top is about the least fun thing in the world, especially when it is your daily
