Default back on the road

I just swaped my f20c to a f22c but i made a few changes. i installed some AEBS Tsleeves, CP pistons 90 mm at 12:1 cr, Bc rods, ACL bearings, cosworth head gasket, mild port and polish on the head and intake manifold, 2003 ap1 ecu, and i used the f20c intake cam do to the larger lift and duration. So far i can feal the torque diffrence, i havent gotten into it yet, im keeping it under 4k till i know the collent system is blead out, it should be broken in as most would say. i hope to see the top end gains soon, and i will dino it friday or some time next week.

ohhh and i did it on a budget. lets compair the prices.....

2005 f22c from salvage yard ........... 4500+

blown up 2005 f22c all parts listed above and i did most of the work above ....... about 3500

i will keep everyone posted

sounds like a sweet deal but why not go for gold and get what you have in your sig?

didnt have the time or another car yet so this was my cheapst option for more power than stock, and i have been debating on not doing the v8 swap and saving up the money to build a factory five GTM instead. i think that would be my best option and i could have another bad a@# car.

never seen one before but that sucker looks mean. how much does that v8 swap cost? Pick a motor, tranny, rear end, thats like i'd say 6k. Meh i like the GTM idea a little better...50k for a car not seen often isnt bad. Reminds me of a pantera

yea the gtm is a mean machine and you can build it yourself for about 30k, and the v8 s2000 swap the way i was going to build it you would make about 1k+ this is because our motor is so expencive and the ls2 is so cheap

LS1/2/3 are all pretty cheap. Finding the donor car is the hard part for the alum. blocks.
I've also scrapped an LS2000 project in favor of a drift 240(L)SX project simply because I enjoy driving the S the way it is. The lack of room to do any serious work is a bit off-putting as well. If I want more power in the S, I'll go SoS S/C on a built motor.
I also tend to agree with you on how bloody expensive our S cars are. If I ever blow the F22, I may dig the LS swap plans out of the closet.

theres gotta be a reason why our motors are more expensive than an american sports cars motor. Well i guess more cars use those powerplants. F bodies, GTO, corvettes and so forth. Im assuming the weight of that v8 would throw off the 50/50 as well. Ive seen motors in the for sale section go for only 1k. I'd really love to buy a blown engine and tinker around with it like you did. I know most things but would really enjoy to play around and possibly build a sick ass F block. Good work sir. Hope you get to enjoy it and really open it up soon...

Actually, the alum. blocks are only 100lbs heavier and the iron blocks are 150lbs heavier than the F20/F22C. It doesn't throw the weight off, hence my interest in the swap. You can find an LS, or L## for $1000 as well. Here very shortly, I'll be purchasing the motor for the 240 swap. I'll keep anyone who is interested posted.

If you keep the 50/50 weight distribution is irrelevant. You stick a motor making 300 more ftlbs of torque in a s2000 first turn you will learn the true meaning of snap oversteer.
