well i just got a 2010 camaro rearend for free, if this keeps happaning i might actualy do the swap and sell the current engine i just built. btw i finaly got on the car and took it to 9k and it pulls real nice and strong all the way into and through vtec, there is a huge diffrence at 3k to 5k in the torque, i will dyno it next week if i get a chance. i also switched back to the f20 injectors and fuelrail the car seems to idel better for some reason, maybe a injector or a cloged fuel rail? i will look into it.

im trying to decide what to do with the engine i pulled out, the rings gauld the cylender walls so i will have to sleeve it before i sell it, darton maybe or i may jsut use the tsleeves again, because they are cheaper, i think i might build it to turn 14k -16k rpm with a 88mm or 89mm bore i dont know what to do with the stroke yet i will have to crunch some numbers and see what the piston speed will be at that rpm but it should be a fun build if i chose that route

theres gotta be a reason why our motors are more expensive than an american sports cars motor. Well i guess more cars use those powerplants. F bodies, GTO, corvettes and so forth. Im assuming the weight of that v8 would throw off the 50/50 as well. Ive seen motors in the for sale section go for only 1k. I'd really love to buy a blown engine and tinker around with it like you did. I know most things but would really enjoy to play around and possibly build a sick ass F block. Good work sir. Hope you get to enjoy it and really open it up soon...
Actually, the alum. blocks are only 100lbs heavier and the iron blocks are 150lbs heavier than the F20/F22C. It doesn't throw the weight off, hence my interest in the swap. You can find an LS, or L## for $1000 as well. Here very shortly, I'll be purchasing the motor for the 240 swap. I'll keep anyone who is interested posted.

Not to thread jack, but yes, I'll be dropping a small block chevy V8 (LS series) into a 240 and turning it into a drift car. I'll probably keep it N/A.

FML, well my car has been running alittle funny so i pulled the head off to check the head gasket and found that the sleeves had droped about .002 to .005, i guess the 10ton of press didnt seat them. Im pulling it out and taking it to school to resurface it and go for round 2, i guess i will do the head too for good measures. how much fun this has been. i will just have to wait on a new cometic head gasket im having one made for me it is for a 90mm bore and will be .030 crush.

I have almost never seen aebs sleeves that dont fail .

To start building blocks you better have some back up money for a failure. I doubt doing that as a side job would make you much money or even be worth the headache in the end

i would end up useing darton sleeves, any money is better than no money. im just trying to offer a cheaper alternative to some who would normaly not be able to fork out like 1200 for putting in sleeves, witch is crazy cause the aebs tsleeves are only 420 shiped. this is still only an ideal. i dont realy need the money but i would enjoy building the motors. for the failure i can only garanty my work and not the manufactured parts, but if something would break i would still help
