DO NOT allow them to put Honda fluid in the rear diff unless you hope to get a free diff from them soon.

It is very easy to do, and I'm here to do it if you want. You provide the fluids and i'll get under the car for a free meal

Hey, Joe -- question for you. For low-mileage cars, would you say something like "every 15,000 miles *or* every two years", or does time not matter in this case?
Ulrich...I changed the diff fluid on my 03 at 4,000 miles and it was already horrible. If you haven't done that yet for the first time may I suggest you consider doing so. My plan is to do it every three oil changes or once ever 7,500 miles. That's at least the plan for now until I do my next change when I will see what the condition of the Mobil 1 that is in there now looks like in comparison to the OEM Honda fluid. For $9 I'm not going to wait until 15,000 mile intervals. It's easy insurance.

Sounds like a plan. Do you have all the necessary gear? All I need to bring is the fluids?

And if I read this thread correctly, what I should get is Mobil 1 synthetic 75W90 Gear Oil for the diff and the Pennzoil Syncromesh for the tranny? How much of each? Any other recommendations?

1 quart for the diff, and 2 quarts for the tranny.
