Dude, I can understand as a vet your upset, but don't get all pissy. You talk about how we don't support our troops, man be glad this isn't freakin Vietnam days when the soldiers were hated by some, and pretty much only supported by families. Now days you have schools taking on pen pals, sending care packages. The news gets involved and does interviews for kids whos parents are over seas. The troops over there have alot more support then they did back when you were in service. Hell, nam was bad, but how many people remember Korea, it wasn't called the Forgotten War for nothin'

I think people are simply bitter as hell that our family members have died for the arrest of one man, and yet revealed any weapons of mass destruction. Then you bring in this prison ordeal. Granted its a little twisted, and wrong for a country that is suppose to be humane, but if you ask me its part of war. You can't go in and not expect that kinda crap.

Srry if you take offense, but for myself atleast, this war isn't worth what we are getting back.

Whether you agree with the reasons of going to war or not...I personally think there are no REAL reasons for war, but anyways...I think Sean said it best:

"I'm not a draft dodger, and I would fight, but not because of the governemnt, but to protect myself and the men who rely on me and vice versa."

We fight b/c we have to, not b/c we want to. I think as long as you fight for whatever reasons you believe to be true, and keep yourself and those around you safe so you can come home should be the focus here.

Ulrich adresses the "flag-waving" issue.
"It means that on a personal level you want to bring each and every soldier home safe and sound."

I think that pretty much sums it up. Much respect to all that have posted here, regardless of what you are arguing.
