esurance
Just thought I would throw this out there, if anybody is insured with esurance, call them and tell them you want the "open paypal" discount. Saved me $135 over 6 months. Not going to make me rich, but still.
Question:
Can I still have my car registered in Florida but insured in Texas? I just spent $75 renewing my registration and license for 2 cars but that's for Florida. But Allstate requires I transfer my policy to another Allstate agent here in Texas.

You can but its a hassel to get all your paperwork in Florida if you live here. You'll eventually have to register the car here and get a Texas policy.

Right now it's more of a hassle to get it registered in Texas. I have to go through emissions, get a new DL, and so on. Florida doesn't have that antiquated process. You do everything online and don't have to put those stickers on your front window or have 2 license plates. But, I need the peace of mind that I'm going to be covered in case of an accident. By next year, I'll be an official Texas resident.

FYI, you have 30 days to register your cars in Texas, and change your DL. If they catch you, there are some hefty fines. So if you have been here for more than 30 day, you are a resident.
As far as ins goes, unless your policy states otherwirse (read the fine print) you are covered in all 48 states if you pay the ins bill.
