Default GLUE REMOVAL

I recently discovered that my 2001 S2000 only had a S2000 badge on the driver's side - the other one was missing totally and appears to have been removed at some time as the are is clean and looks good.

I removed the remaining one, but now have some serious glue goo there I need to remove. It is really thick and I was wondering if anyone else has removed emblems and if so, how did you get the mess off under them? The badge came off just fine with the dental floss technique, but the glue is thick and I need it off. Help?

Try adhesive remover. You can get it at walmart in the automotive paint section. It's from 3M - Adhesive, TAR, & wax remover.

I used rubbing alcohol and it worked wonders.

I tried 3M removed and it didn't even dent it. It is about 1/32 thick and doesn't seem to soften much.

Go to the Dollar Store and get a bottle of "Goo Gone" or whatever it's called. That stuff works wonders, is cheap, and adds a fresh orangey scent.

If you didn't return the the 3M yet, let it soak, than rub off with your fingers, that is what I did.

WD 40 will soften the glue and break it up so it can be easily removed. To speed up the process use dental floss to cut the grip between the glue build up and the paint.

I used goo gone and a blow dryer to soften it up. Honestly, anything you use will still require you to manually ease the glue off with your fingers. It's a pain and took nearly 3 hours to do both sides. Be careful with using your nails, it will scratch your car.

If you can find it, get 3M all purpose adhesive remover. It's not super gentile on paint (You'll want to use a paint polish and another layer of wax afterwards)but you hardly have to do any rubbing.
