Kept reading that cheaper once broke after a while from recoil. Don't know how true that is
Also I want the option of being able to magnify it, if I want to down the road.

What's a relatively cheap AR that I can play with while the other is being build? M&P 15 best choice?

In truth, you can literally build a ar15 exactly like the LaRue since it is a ar-15 lol

a complete upper like BCM's looks like LaRue's upper. you can change the handguard to whatever your needs.

From what I understand, LaRues barrels are build to tighter tolerance than most. There is zero gap between receivers and build quality is just higher than most. Again, just want the consensus is on the web.

It's my 1st AR and I just wanted something that's already good without having to worry about it. Plus, if I decide to sell it down the road I'm sure it'll be easier to sell a LaRue than a customized build one.
I would like to build one eventually, but I need to get more comfortable and knowledgeable with these rifles first.

yea, its the same with building ar-15's as long as you look for the military spec parts (mil-spec), you're golden.

Going with either the Springfield xd-s or Smith & Wesson M&P Shield .40 S&W.

I'm pushing more towards Springfield's xd-s lol
