Have you looked at the pictures of the car dropped on springs? Would that be sufficient for you? Measure twice and cut once.

Well I plan to keep the car for a long time, so mashi said to get coilovers for longevity.

Just don't want to go for cheaper and end up with a pair of shit posji tech coilovers made in china like my friends sti and they blow front in less than 6 months

im saving up for coilovers as well... im at 76k miles, and i'll probably need to replace them soon...

Haha what brand you going for? The F&F coilovers are real cheap under 1000$ but no idea if they're crappy.
