Interesting situation with a craigslister
So since I've had several hit and runs, I put my car up on craigslist, to see what kind of offers I would get. I'm mainly looking to get a trade with enough cash to pay off my car...
Well, I get this guy who emails me from Oklahoma (Area code 405). I give him a call after he left a number. And then he starts asking about it. I give him a brief description. And then he starts throwing the craziest BS I've ever heard lol...
So he begins by saying that AP1's won't sell for anymore than 6k. THEN, he says that AP2's won't sell for anymore than 7k.
THEN... here's the funniest part... he says he has seen a 2003 S2000 with a MUGEN hardtop with only 70k miles for 6.5k in Corpus Christi. I couldn't help but laugh when I heard that! I just couldn't believe how this person was trying to convince me. He kept talking like he knew so much about cars...
And THEN... (drumroll) his last comment was "I'm looking to buy an s2000, drive it for 8 months, and then stick a turbo'd LS1 in it"... <<< He said it like the engine fit like butter. I couldn't believe his seriousness.
So my question here is, what do you guys do when situations like these come up? Do you lose your patience? or do you play stupid?

this guy is lowballing you harder than H-I. I would've hanged up on him when he said ap2's are going for 7k. Have you tried H-I?
and what's the mileage, year, and status of the car?

Yeah I usually double the asking price if I get lowballed. Ill negotiate but I will be as ridiculous as a lowball offer.
You have to understand there are people out there that have nothing better to do that troll craigslist and f with people trying to sell stuff. Just ignore it and move on. Good luck with the sale.
