Just bought a hood,from a guy on your board,and at first,I was quoted $45.00 for shipping,and now,it is up to $250.00.

$45 for shipping is ridiculous.

I paid $50bux just to ship some door panels here in the US.There is no way shipping could be as low as he told you.Hoods are too huge and even though they are CF they still are heavy then well..paper letters. On average shipping to US is like $150+ I dont even know how much it would be for out of US shipping.Just ask for you money back if its not really gonna be worth it.

I can assure you it does not cost anywhere near $250.I shipped a 60 pound package to canada a couple of months ago for $55. Find out who he is shipping with and the weight and dimensions of the box and call the shipping company with zip codes to get an estimate.

Really?

When getting new hoods in I notice shipping is always over $100bux.Maybe its more cause of the dimensions rather than weight.

shipping something that big can be costly, its not simply calculated by just the weight. it also considers its size

It's mainly the size,that matters.
But I can get a brand new Seibon,from Showstoppers,(S2Ki G.B.)shipped for $675.00
What do you suggest,???

I would not want to act like a Jerk with this guy;I think he was in good faith, and on top of this,I already paid him.
Thank's.
-Emil.

250 sounds a bit much. 150 sounds better. Now if he fabricated a large wooden box to house and protect the hood, then maybe 250 like jahnke did when he shipped his Mugen CF hood to me. Is it via freight-shipping, ground, or air?

1. Because of the size, it will have to ship via freight.
2. The source address and delivery address will also impact the price.
3. International shipping will also impact the shipping cost.

I shipped an OEM hood, in the box from my CF hood from Houston, TX to southern CA. It shipped for about 100 or so. That was three years ago and gas prices have gone way up. So 250 does sound a bit high, but I don't think it is that high considering it is an international shipment.

What I would do if I was you, I would find a US address I could ship it to that I could drive too and pick up the hood from. Drive down without a hood and drive back with a hood. That will save on Freight and cross boarder taxes too

If you want to get a shipping quote, see www.freightquote.com.
