Default One quick question...

I just bought a C.F. hood,(used,)from a member in Texas.

At first,(after he had checked with UPS,) I was quoted $45.00 for shipping to Montreal,Canada.

I bought and paid the hood,(Paypall.)but now he tells me that the shipping would be $250.00.
I paid $300.00 for the hood.

What do you suggest.???

P.S.:I can get a brand new Seibon,from Showstopper,(S2Ki G.B.)delivered to Montreal for $675.00

Ask the seller to let you out of the deal since the shipping is so high and order a new one. Or ask the seller to find a less expensive shipper, although I don't think it's going to be all that much cheaper anywhere else. Hoods are over-sized and very expensive to ship. Been there, done that.

Thank's Dean.
I think, this is what I will do;but it makes me feel sorry for the seller.
He seemed to act in good faith.

He probably did act in good faith. When people get estimates on shipping costs they forget to take size into consideration. I was quoted $50 for shipping via UPS for a hood I wanted to buy that was just three states away. It turned out that the shipping was going to be $200 because of the size. It was cheaper to make the drive to pick it up.

I agree with the idea of getting out of the deal.

I'd get the brand new one too.

I'm sure it was an honest mistake. Since the seller quoted you $45, I would expect them to willingly refund your money if they can't ship it to you for that price.
