Hey Guys, I've been reading lots of posts on the board and finally decided to join. I'm currently looking to buy an S2000 after I decided to neg the Acura 3.2TL Type S, Subaru WRX, Acura RSX-S. At first I thought the S had to many miata-ish comparison and decided against it, but after seeing it in person and taking it for a test drive...I love it. Trying to find a good dealer in houston. So far I went to Spring Branch Honda and they want $5000 over MSRP. I went to Gillman the other day and he gave me a MSRP price but had already put the sealant on, so he bumped it up $700. Went to John Eagle as well but hey do not currently have a red one on the lot.

 

I think gillman puts the paint sealant on all their cars.

 

First of all, welcome to the board. I'm sure you'll enjoy your car immensely once you get it.

Tell Gillman to f*ck themselves, and that you are NOT paying $700 for the sealant. Tell them you'd rather put a deposit with JEH and wait for your car.

I'm willing to bet that you'll get a call pretty soon from Gillman, and that they will be willing to sell it to you at MSRP.

As far as Spring Branch Honda, I'm speachless... 5K over MSRP? I would never, NEVER buy ANY car from such a dealer.

BTW, a food for thought: go to Yahoo autos and search for dealers in Luisianna. I bought my S2000 at MSRP in Lafayette a year and a half ago (when you still couldn't find one in Houston without paying a lot over MSRP). It's only a couple of hours drive from Houston.

Spring Branch has two S's on the show room and both of them are at 5000 over msrp. I asked for a test drive and they wouldn't even do that. I don't know how they plan on selling the car. I bought my 95' Honda Accord from them and it went smooth.

 

Goodson sold me 2 weeks ago a Silver/Black for MSRP, Give Shawn Rahimi a call and mention me "Trung." If you get the car that is mention my name, because he said he would give 100 dollars for each person I brought in. I'll split half with you if you do purchase it from them.

 

I bought a 2002 S2000 in Lafayette from Moss Motors, White/Red. $31000. Then had it registered in Houston. Houston dealers the f***ing thieves. $5000 above MSRP ? I don't think so ! Who gives them the right to so that, does Honda approve. If the S2000 is so "wanted" why are there a few used ones sitting on dealers lots for 5 weeks, ie Goodson Honda. I really would rather go for a new model rather than a used one. The fact that the 02's have a rear glass window is a big plus as well.
