you are right about that, but they got years to fix there problems. also they can just keeping the fines which cost nothing compare to fixing the problem. So they have to put the problem on lawnmowers and 15mph differents on the freeways.

The speed limit change came due to the fact that it is easier to target the general public instead of going after the industries in the area that cause a lot of the problem. Hell for a part of day, most Houston drivers are stuck in traffic doing under 35 or 45mph, so how can lowering the speed limit to 55 help? I think it sucks and think it is wrong, my $0.02 worth.

Do you know the reason behing the original 55mph speed. It had absolutely nothing to do with pollution. It had everything to do with fuel conservation (60's remember).

i feel bad for joe who has to drive like eight hundred miles to work everyday. i also feel bad for myself, 'cause i hate getting to work late, and now i have to leave earlier than i used to (which is really gay).

Hey...I'm with Coop on this one. The board took the path of least resistance. Unfortunately, this will probably continue for a lot longer than what we saw with the "fuel consumption limit".

I'm still driving my usual speeds to get to and from work. It'll just be a more expensive ticket.

Thanks for the concern MO.

I was reading in the Galveston paper, they had a choice. One was to cut the speed limit, or two was to have black out days. Days where you could not drive your car at all. What happened to the land of the free? Rant on Dale we are with ya!
