Transmission replacement
I just ordered a transmission and clutch from another member here and hoping to arrive before friday, was wondering if any of you guys have experience changing out the transmission on the S, Ive done it on other cars just not the S yet and was hoping someone can lend me a hand otherwise i'm on my own haha. let me know if anyone interested in helping me out with this mini project.
Thanks

Research starter bolt removal and broken knock sensor... those go hand in hand. From my personal experience these were my 2 trouble spots:
Starter bolt:
Remove the belt. Remove top alternator bolt, and loosen the bottom. Then pivot the alternator out of the way. Youll need 18" of extension, swivel, and 14mm socket to remove starter bolt, being slow and careful as one slip can lead to a broken knock sensor... Once loosened LEAVE the bolt in the starter housing. Itll be a pain to get back. I was able to feel the bolt by hand from under the car. Feed the extension w/socket through under the manifold, then get under the car and place socket on bolt. Then you can start wrenching.
Top trans bolts:
Once drivetrain is disconnected, You will likely need to lower the motor a bit to access the top trans bolts. This is easily done by equally backing out the subframe bolts from the bottom of the car. There's 3 on each side, middle bolts are shorter and can be removed. The 4 corner bolts are long, and can be backed out safely. I had to back mine out about 4" (you may not need that much, i have innovative mounts) to get the clearance I needed. Go SLOW and you may find items that also need to be removed to go lower. I read youll likely have to remove the headers for access to a trans bolt. I'm turbo'd and found i had to remove full exhaust/turbo assembly bc it was hitting the frame. Your headers may also need removed for this reason as well, but I'm not 100%.
Just do some researching. All the info is out there. Any other questions feel free to ask

it started with third gear grinds, then i couldn't downshift worth a f@#k unless i reved up then i was able to downshift then finally i wasn't able to go in ANY gear. this all happened in a 3-4 month span daily driven. i had already purchased a new used transmission knowing that any moment the current one would go out and the day my purchased one came my transmission went out lol.
