Default 4.44 gear install

I know this has been asked here, but I couldn't find it in a search, so, can anyone recomend a shop to do the differential work on a gear swap?

this will be my next mod also. Along with the comptech reinforced rear end at the same time. I am going to need to find someone also. Seems that no one knows anyone that can do it localy. As of right now, no one has done the gear swap that I know of in the NTXS2000 club.

I am going to ask around in the local SCCA club and see if there is anyone with real experience with rear ends.

Svann got his diff repaired at Mike's Offroad Shop (I think) in Bedford (I think) after Vandergriff admited they didn't have the skill for it, and really liked the work they did - that shop has a lot of experience working on diffs, it seems. (Makes sense.)

Specifically ask Reb Folbre for shop recommendation. Been around forever, knows all the shops in DFW and beyond. (He got volunteered to be RE this year as well) 940-682-4382.

You could also ask Taylor Race Engineering. They are local, and specialize in transmission and dif, but primarily on formula cars. May not do the work, but will know someone.

I assume you are after someone to the the inside the case work. Proper setup of pinion to ring gear is indeed a job for a pro. I don't know if torsen requires anything special, but you will not be getting into it anyway, but rather just unbolting the ring gear from it and bolting on the new one.

Taking the dif off and replacing on the car is ordinary wrench work, so dif setup doesn't have to be local. I would be surprised if Compech or King or other Honda specialist did not offer services such as diff setup. The only disadvantage is added time to ship each way.

Thanks,
The guy that is doing the rest of the work has done a lot of rear ends for drag cars and big American cars, but he is used to working with diffs the size of my trunk. I would feel better with a specialist doing the actual gear work.

I have searched for almost a year now and can't find anyone. I have found a guy in Georgetown who looks good and comes recommended highly by a long time Miata Guy.

I have burnt one set up doing it myself and so realize it really takes the right tools to do it right. It also takes someone who is willing to redo it if it isn't right the first time.
