Alignment... {rant}
Ok, so I took my car to NTB (75 between Park and Plano Pkwy) today to get the alignment done for the auto-x. I was going to do the 3 year deal... then they ask about it being lowered or having any suspension work. I told them it was about 1/2" lower than stock and they said the 3 year would be $209 (as opposed to the $140 or so). I talk em down to $180 or so and then give them the specs from this thread and leave to go eat (had g/f trail me to the place so I didn't have to wait).
10 min later I get a call saying if they do non-factory specs it won't have a warranty and it will be $90 for a one time deal. I told them not to touch it and I'd just come pick it up.
So, once I got home I called the other NTB in Plano and ask the guy, he said to bring it in tomorrow morning and they would do it. Grrr... I have to work, so I would have to get up way early to be there right at 7 to make it to work at a decent hour.
Then I remember Firestone... I plan on going to the one off of Parker and Custer (I think... somewhere in that area) after work tomorrow because they seemed a lot less "worried" about taking it in for a special alignment AND it's cheaper. If anybody has had problems with this specific Firestone please let me know (I checked all 12 pages for north texas for the word alignment and didn't find anything). Thanks.

NTB is a joke sometimes...
when i got my 06.. i lowered it the day i got it.... so when i went in to get it aligned (ive got the 3yr unlimited thing, and it transfers to your next car).. anyway the guy came out and was like:
him- "its a 06, everything should be good"
me- "no i lowered it, it drives straight, but the toes prob all out"
him- "okay let me talk to my guy"
(comes back)
him- "my guy says that the 06's arnt in the pc yet"
me- "its the same as the 05"
(goes and comes back)
him- "my guy says that he doesnt know if this will fix your problem"
me- "?wtf? the toes out, i lowered my car, fix the toe"
(goes and comes back)
him- "my guy just isnt sure, he says that its a 06 and it should be fine"
it was obvious they didnt want to do anything.... they where in the bay area playing with someone

Regarding Firestone... I took mine to the one near Campbell & Jupiter, I think... they told me that they don't offer the Lifetime alignment for non-factory specs. It was like $65 for a one-time alignment, IIRC.
I didn't think to ask if the Honda UK specs count as "factory specs", since that is what I was going for anyway.
Maybe next time.

The NTB in lewisville is ok depending on who is working. I know a few techs there and they did my M3 before with me watching and let me sit in the car while they did it.
Firestone is probably ok as long as they let you watch them work so they don't screw something. I don't think they would even notice that your car was lowered if it was only half an inch, just don't mention it.
Autoscope in plano is good but they charge an arm and a leg, definetely not cost effective. I think the 4 wheel alignment is 100+ and then corner balance is more.

The only Firestone I've found that reliably has a good alignment tech and reliably honors the lifetime to your specs is Jupiter & Campbell in Garland.
That's the one I went to, and they said they won't honor a lifetime alignment if you're using custom (non-OEM) specs. Maybe the guy just didn't like me.

I had mine done at NTB in Frisco. They had no problems and was very nice about my car being lowered. It did take 2 hours for some reason but they fixed the alignment.
They literally worked on the car for 2 hours. I watched while they fixed it.
I bought the 5 year deal.

How much for a 5 year deal?

Since we're talking alignments...
How do you guys have it set?
Factory?
More aggressive?
Or does anyone have it set less aggressive to save on tire wear? If so, what did you set it to to save on tires?
