It's been >12 months since I've been... so there's no telling who's working there these days.
I forget who it was, but I asked for him by name (his name was in an old thread about alignment shops). They still told me they didn't offer lifetime alignments if I did custom specs. I can't remember when it was that I went... probably at least 6 months back.

Maybe somebody will go and check it out to verify.

James. I need to get my alignment checked soon. I'll see what I can find out.

I go to the Firestone at K and Park - they seemed pretty cool about aftermarket specs - I ended up just going with stock, though - it's pretty aggressive already.

This is kind of an older thread, but I work at the firestone in Mckinney on Eldorado Parkway. My techs can whine about setting specific settings, but I will be glad to supervise an accurate alignment since I used to be an alignment tech. I helped set an alignment on a red boosted s2k for autox at northwest highway and abrams if that person is a member on here, I relocated. Not as an advertisement for my store, but for trustworthy and affordable work, we do a good job over here. My name is Chris.

That's the one I went to, and they said they won't honor a lifetime alignment if you're using custom (non-OEM) specs. Maybe the guy just didn't like me.
That's probably right.

I have gone there for years and they told me that I was the only one they were doing the lifetime alignments anymore for with special specs. It seems that they sold a lot of those after I broadcast that info on the web and a number of people abused the system so they quit selling them.

How old are you? The reason I ask is that I saw them selling one to a "mature" guy in a Bimmer who was discussing his autocross specs. They did tell him that they weren't going to align his car every week and he accepted the increased tire wear.

At 29 years of age, I like to think I'm mature... but not "mature".

I'll probably try there again next time I get an alignment, and try to talk them into selling me the lifetime deal. But, even if they won't sell me one, they still did a good job, so I'm satisfied with their service. Although, the tech did try to talk me out of my caster setting, even though I'm pretty sure the number I gave him was the stock spec.

Overall, I wasn't looking for anything that aggressive, anyway. I think I gave them the Honda UK Alignment specs. I think that should still qualify as OEM. And come to think of it... I think I wasn't even lowered at the time... which means that I'm due for an alignment, because I haven't had the car re-aligned since I put on the suspension.

He probably tried to talk you into more caster as I have been praising to him what the extra caster has done for feel and "catchability" should the back end get loose

I thought I posted a reply on this last night but I guess not... so here's the short version:

The Firestone I went to took care of me, but if I have any problems when I go back then I'll definately swing by your area. I can use that lifetime alignment thing at any Firestone right?

He was recommending less, because he said 6 degrees was too much and would cause "tramlining".

Yeah, it can be used at any location. I'll be off thursday and friday, but will likely work saturday and sunday. Over the weekend, we are a pretty busy store. Best thing to do is drop it off or have stuff to do when you get there.
