Bring your Altima buddy to Houston some weekend...he will see (their tail-lights) drivers who know how to launch.

None of the S2000's running him were really in top form.. I know because I did a brief straight line run with them earlier. But the Nissan was pretty quick. With good launches and a full quarter mile run I would guess the Altima would not have fared quite as well.

what the heck? who did he race? anyone on this board?

I'm gonna try to get the guy to run me. The Altima can't possibly be that fast.

I think its supposed to be a high 14 second car in the 1/4 mile. That actually pretty fast. I bet the people he raced didn't launch at high RPMs.

That guys post is a little misleading. I think the only car he raced from a roll was his friend and if he raced anyone from a stop, then they probably did a street launch or were caught sleeping. The Altima would lose 9 out of 10 times if the S2000 driver "really" tried.

We should have put Chris up against him again, I don't know how Chris pulled so hard on us... Must be a hidden nitrous button he hasn't told us about , or maybe he just got the jump on us.

Look at this quote from the Altima guy.

"The V-TEC technology is pretty respectable for 239HP out of a 4 cylinder, but the altima being a car for the family at $15K cheaper beating it again and again was A Lot of fun!"

Where is he getting 15K cheaper from? Last I read a fully loaded Altima is around $27K. That would put the S2000 at around $42K and I know I didn't pay that much.

The laws of physics work even in Mineral Wells Texas. Face it, the Altima just has a good power/weight ratio. The Nissan has as much HP as a S2000 and a fatter torque curve, with an engine that is 75% larger. It can

Okay, I was reading that thread and was impressed by the new Altima's straight line performance. From what I was reading, it seemed like a pretty credible thread.

Then I read about the Huffines Meet in Dallas in that same post. One guy replied and said something like the GTP owned the new Altima. That's the same GTP that I beat many times.
So the GTP can beat the Altima, while the Altima beats the S2000, then I've beating that same GTP all the times I ran him. Doesn't make sense to me.

I don't want to register on that board and say that. It's a waste of time, b/c i'm not a fan of the Altima.
