another question
that question is quite vauge and I'm sure it can be answered by:
trying the little search bar in the top corner...
I know the search function sucks but I just did a search for intake and sorted through the title/preview on the first page and noticed a few good posts w/o even having to open them.

I am using the K&N FIPK Intake. Had AEM V2 before and while that was a very good intke, i was scared of hydrolocking. The K&N Intake is in the enigne bay with a heatsheild and prevents hydrolock. The sound is pretty loud but in a good way. IMO its the better alternative to the Comptech icebox.
I have the AEM and I have the non-hydrolock valve on it. Great sound!!!!
Don't know if it actually helped or not but it was worth it for the sound alone. Now if I could only find an exhaust that had the same quality of sound. :sigh:

Big Bird: The consensus I saw in my searching around here was that the AEM V2 is the best bang for your buck. I like mine. I doubt it adds much power (I think the dyno on their page shows like 8hp max) - but it sounds fantastic.
A cool cheap/quick way to sample how the sound changes is to just remove the top cover of your stock intake so the stock cone filter is exposed. Some people drive around like this all the time. The full intake gives you more than just removing the cover, though.
I do worry about hydrolock, though. I try to drive the truck when it rains. I've actually driven through some pretty heavy rain and it isn't a problem - it's the puddles that will kill you.
Oh, I don't have the link handy, but I found some sound clips at the Temple of VTEC of an AEM install.
Also, do plenty of googling to find the best price... you'll find a pretty big range of markups out there.
Edited to add: I've never heard of any mod giving better MPG. Increased hp/torque - maybe... but in my experience you'll never get any better mileage than stock.

yea thats on a 90 civic with lieka d15 in it or something i was told the s2000 was basiclly tuned for maxium performance stock. intake header exhaust would add little horsepower...is this true?
