Default AP2 bumper conversion

Hey i am converting my front bumper to an ap2 next week and had some questions that i cant find answers too by searching, anyone here done it? i was needing to know what all you needed to do to modify the ap1 splash shield to make it work, is it just a matter of drilling new holes? or actually cutting it up or what

thanks

I've done it on mine. You can modify the splash shield if you want, but I didn't see any need to, it looks and works just fine. The installation of the ap2 bumper is pretty easy actually, when you pop the ap1 bumper off, you'll notice a Styrofoam block that'll come out. Some people reinstall it (like I did) others didn't, but I'd recommend doing it for the cushion it provides. The next thing you will notice when you install the ap2 bumper is that not all the bolts align, there are roughly 4 bolts on the bottom that aligns ok but the other 4 or 5 have no holes to bolt on to. You can do one (or both) of two things, you can do what Josh did on his and go to home depot for some short metal brackets that will bolt on to the bumper and extends to the stock holes. Another option is to zip tie the bumper to the stock holes where you can't bolt. There won't be any problem if you left the 4 bolts on the way it is either (which is the way I have it).

Those were pretty much the problems I ran into when installing my ap2 bumper. It really isn't hard, and shouldn't take too long provided that you have all the required tools.

ya i've taken off and reinstalled my ap1, so i'm not too worried about it just questioning the splash shield, that pretty much answers my question though, thanks
