I wonder if insurance would cover something like that?

That would suck if it was all out of pocket...

^ I'm pretty sure most insurance policies would not cover it. Autocross is a "competitive, timed event" and those are explicitly excluded from most policies.

That guy's gonna be hurtin'. I suspect the Celica/Subie/Audi guys might file claims on their "uninsured/underinsured coverage". Dunno about the Porsche guy. He may be SOL.

"hit the clutch instead of the brake"... I wonder if that C4 is an automatic.

I feel bad for that audi owner, all he did was park there. =( but the guy who had the porsche must be rich since he owns it!

Actually the story is that the guy driving the GT3 was on a fun run, his regular car was the C4 and yes it was an automatic, he hit the clutch instead of the brake. So the guy that wrecked the GT3 didn't even own it!

I would say the GT3 is pretty much not covered. The other cars were just people just watching the event so they might be ok.

Must've been a left-foot braker in his auto C4 Vette...I just can't see how he could've moved his right foot all the way from the gas to the clutch.

I'm sad to say it is. The GT3 Belongs to Doug Barret co-driven by Tom Kotzian. I was looking forward to mixing it up with him at Nationals this year.
