Default Broken Al

Well, I went to my Orthopedic Surgeon about my painful achilles tendon, only to be told that I had a partial tear , so now I'm hobbling along with a new blue cast on my left leg (very stylish).

I've injured it before, back when I used to run 5 miles a day around a gold course in Thailand (running through the golf course meant meeting many deadly snakes ). Then it was just ice it an move on.

Last week I was on a mission trip to New Orleans and was trying to lift sheets of dry wall side by side with an 18-year old football player. Should have known. Pop.

This does hamper my ability to drive the S . I'm thinking about trying it out this evening to see if its possible. If not, you will see me with my daughter's automatic Camry (no laughter please) at the next Auto-X. Question: Do they rent automatic Porches (yes I know I spelled it wrong...they hate that) for the weekend?

Note: Anyone with sisters should not think that limping is an impediment to dating.

Hi Al,

Sorry to hear about the tendon. What is your expected recovery time? An automatic can be a very good thing at times.

Another key question you need to answer is can you still captain the boat as lake day is just around the corner?

Best Wishes,
David

Well that sucks!
Probably be pretty tough to drive the S effectively with a cast on your left lower leg.

Oh heck yeah I can, and have, steered a boat with many more extremities immobilized than just one leg. The lake day is on , no question. First time in 2 years that we have had any real water.

I may need a beer fetcher though.

Regards,

Al

If they do, you should know that Porches, automatic or not, don't go anywhere. The only going you do in or on a porch is rocking. As in rocking chairs. You can rock fast or slow, but as far as I know, I've never heard of a race for that

I'm SO sorry to hear about the tendon. I strained mine doing a half marathon a few years ago, and it was absolute misery. About the only thing I could do athletic-wise without pain was to snowski (and I did just that, but I had it iced almost the whole trip up to CO and back). Rest well, give it time to heal, and you'll be back on your feet, if you'll pardon the pun, in no time

I'll drive your car to a FTD for ya, no charge You should borrow Dave's RR sport, it's an automatic and I bet it's a riot hurtling through the slaloms at 5000+ lbs.

In all seriousness, hope the leg gets better soon.
