Custom Plates
I read up on custom plates and it says you can only have six characters, however I could have sworn I've seen Texas plates with seven characters before. Does the space in the middle count as a space? For example, would I be able to put ABCDEFG all in a row, leaving out the middle space? or does it have to be ABC DEF ?
6 letters. On some layouts, I think the space is optional (or non-existent), but you can't replace the space with a letter so you're still limited to 6 letters.
However, on the recent poll for a new TX license plate design, the license plate candidates had 7 letters, so maybe that was a sign of things to come.
By the way... the coolest TX license plate I've seen was:
"FIGHT"
It was obviously a UT Alum. With the layout of the plate, the word "Texas" was right above the word "FIGHT"... so you effectively get:
"Texas FIGHT"!!!
Hookem!
