Note that you need to contact Al, just don't walk into any Discount Tire (including his store) and expect that deal if you don't talk to him directly. Al also seemed more knowledable than most DT employees.

By the way, I just got off the phone with Al. Despite some reports I heard at the latest autocross of the OEM Potenza S02 no longer being available, he'll have a set at his store for me tomorrow morning.

I went to get some tires today at the one on 190 and coit, but Al and Joe no longer work there. They now work at the one on 75 between Plano Pkwy and 15th.

Well... I tracked down Al Cavan again this last weekend... The Plano store (across from Collin Creek Mall) told me he was at the Coit/190 store. Called there and said he was there, but left me on hold for 15+ minutes each of the two times I tried to talk to him. I never got him on the phone. I think his co-workers are starting to figure out we like to deal only with him.

Yeah, he seems to bounce between those two stores. Dunnno if there's a schedule, or what. Anyway I called him last week to get some race tires got a hold of him in about two minutes. Sucks about your being on hold.

Don't stay on hold. Just call back in a few minutes. But yes, as of April 21 he is back at the 190/Coit location.
