Drivers School?
The bus lot is larger than Pennington, but it's sealed asphalt, so it's pretty slick. Pennington is actually a fun surface to run on, since the ocncrete gives you a lot more grip than that broken, gravelly excuse for asphalt in Mineral Wells.
If you want to run on the big lot at TMS, the Texas Region SCCA is having regional events out there on May 18th and June 15th, and there is still time to enter the ProSolo scheduled for April 12th & 13th in the big lot. ProSolo isn't like a typical SCCA autocross, and you can expect lots of runs, although you run head-to-head against another car (driving on a mirror image of the course you're running), and getting a good launch is crucial (drag racing-style start). I was planning on doing this event, but I don't think my 62k mile stock clutch will stand up to a couple of dozen drag launches with 225 Kumhos.

I won't be running any events in April. My shop said that the fresh paint will be more susceptible to chips/damage in the first 30 days... so I'm going to keep the car in the garage as much as possible. I should be ready to roar in May, though... so I'll look into the SCCA events in May.
By running head-to-head, you simply mean that another driver will be running at the same time on the mirror course, right? That will give me some scale to judge how I'm doing. Is there any other purpose to doing that? Is there some sort of elimination that is done, or is it just to have 2 cars on course at once?
Will I run both versions of the course, or will I run only one all day long?
The big lot at TMS is concrete, too, right? Or is it also the sealed asphalt?
