Fluid changes help
Just wanted to touch base for your opinion--
I track my car and I am changing the transmission oil, clutch fluid, and
engine coolant. I want to take the car to David McDavid Acura in Austin.
The parts guy says they use the same Honda fluids as if I would take it to Honda.
My question is, should I be okay with Acura fluids for the above, given that I track the car. My car has 51K and I haven't changed any of these before. My choices for service are limited at the moment, because I'm going to TWS this weekend and I don't have any time for checking anybody else out.
TIA, alex

I'd mostly be concerned about the diff fluid. I wouldn't be surprised if they put in the CRV fluid, which will lead to diff damage. Tranny fluid should be fine, and oil is probably OK (but not great, since it's probably just el cheapo dino oil).
Edit: NM... I just re-read the list of fluids that you're changing.
All of those fluids should be fine.
Tranny fluid should be Honda MTF, which is recommended by most people anyway.
Clutch fluid is just standard DOT4 brake fluid, IIRC. Nothing exciting there.
Coolant is probably the regular Honda stuff, too, and that should be fine.

Yes for what you have listed you will be fine with what Acura has. Like Marcus mentioned the biggest concern would be the diff but you didn't list that. You also didn't mention fresh brake fluid which is very imporant for tracking your car.
I'll be in the #53 Black Prelude instructing this weekend at TWS so stop by and say hi...

Looks like 2 quarts will do the trick. I'd buy a 3rd, in case you have a spill.

Thanks for all the tips. Yeah, I had done the diff a few track events ago with Acura. There have been no complaints about the diff oil, so I imagine they used diff oil that was okay. And, I use Mobil 1 engine oil with the S2000 filter, whatever number it is, which I supply to my oil change place.
My BF, who is also a track instructor with TDE too, he changes and bleeds the brake oil. He uses Motul 650.
So, I will be good for the tranny and clutch oils and coolant with Acura. That's very good to know. I just got an appointment with them.
I'll be in the #161 or #61, White S2000 (with a red TDE banner). I'll stop by and say hi--
