OEM wheels are about $600 each new, so I would expect them to reimburse at lease $2400 + tax

very true...but insurance agencies are also trying to save as little money as they can...so if they can find USED anything they will do all they can to save themselves 2K and spend 400 for a used set...when i worked at a body shop insurance companies were so stingy...we had a van that had been in a wreck and instead of using new parts...we had a buy the front end of the same van out of a junk yard and fix it like that..just hope your insurance isnt going to be a jew about it

Sorry to hear that man...I live in apartments that dont have garages.. :/ so i pray every night before I go to bed.

Sorry to hear this... Most Insurance Companies will only cover factory parts and will replace with factory parts unless you purchase additional coverage for custom parts ... Maybe have them cut you a check for the factory rims and tires and buy a new set....

I'm not sure what insurance company you have, but I've never heard of that. i'm sure there are limits, but i've had aftermarket Cd players, subs, and bumpers covered several times. Granted, you have to prove you had these things. I even had a friend in high school who's car caught on fire one day and got receipts from people at the school for playstations and xbox's and all kinds of things, and insurance paid for them jsut because they were "in the car."

Theft is a little different than fire, but i was told by my insurance company that they cover anything that is bolted to the car, which is why i bolt my subs in to my trunk when I had them.

The insurance policy will have detailed levels of coverage. I've never heard of a policy that would allow the use of used parts from a junk yard. The worst I've seen is that they sometimes specify the use of aftermarket parts (OEM replicas).

as long as it is bolted to the car you should be fine as tx chopper said...which...im sure your wheels were bolted to the car lol. my buddy had his civic stolen from an apartment complex and he had wheels, suspension, intake, and exhaust but since it was his daily and not his "race car" he never took pics of it...when it came down to it he only got 2400 for the car...

I have a Mugen Replica FRP hardtop on like my sig says...
And it doesn't seem like you know about arlington seeing as you live in Richardson. It's not like Plano doesn't have stuff happen either.
