well honestly i mean if youre on a street not designated by the appropriate speed limit, what are you supposed to do?? the street by my house got upped 10mph cuz they realized it was seriously not a 35mph zone.

not gonna say andrew was in the right, but definitely driving my lotus at the autox doesnt justify how fast you can go on street. you gf has an s2k which im pretty sure drives it worse than you can as far as following the speed limit. before you preach to people for following laws, why dont you get back in to that rx8 you used to have and teach us a version of SLOW driving. <3
Read the post before you post some asinine comment in broken English I can hardly understand. I'm not talking about a side street that isn't well marked. He got a ticket on an INTERSTATE HIGHWAY and he was clearly speeding, end of story. We all get busted from time to time and just need to accept responsibility and take care of it which it sounds like he's willing to do.

I usually drive within 5-10 mph of the posted speed limit regardless of a 35 mph residential zone or a 70 mph highway on the way out to west Texas. I've gotten exactly 0 tickets for speeding in the Lotus or S2000 (which are both my cars, not that it matters). There's no point in driving fast on the street (if you can't do it without looking over your shoulder constantly it's not fun), smart people save it for the track. The way I see it any ticket is about 4 autocrosses or 1 track day worth of $ down the drain, why risk it?

My fiance drives our 2009 Mini Cooper S and gets 37 mpg average in it so I'm pretty sure she's not lead footing it everywhere either but I'm pretty sure she could embarrass you at an autocross as well, feel free to come find out at the next one.

His response was obviously directed to ij0rgei, whom he quoted.

He wasn't criticizing you, he even said:

So we'd all appreciate it if you learned how to read.

No one here was beating you up for speeding Andrew. I have had my fair share of speeding tickets, just none in Plano. Why? Probably the fact that I pay more attention to my speed while in Plano (for obvious reasons) and maybe its a little luck as well. What gets me though is how some people (and I'm not saying you) will blame everyone and everything but themselves for getting a speeding ticket. The cop was being an ass, the city they were in, and then the most absurd reason.......the speed limit is slower than they think it should be.............please.
