Help with Safety
To follow the rules, the Safety Steward has to be on duty when any car is on course. That makes it hard for a single steward to ever get to run - can't do both at one time.
We had 3 drivers volunteer to help me with Safety Steward duty at the May AX. That was great, but they were all class 1 drivers. That is not a bad thing, but I'm also class 1, and we need someone to cover while I'm running.
If you drive in the S2000 class and want to help, please let me know. I can show you what to do and I'll be there while you do it. I'll just be distracted for a minute or so while I drive!

Here's a somewhat graphic example of what can go wrong when safety ISN'T a priority at an event.

OK - I should have been more clear. This is a request for someone to be a Safety Steward at all future NTx autocrosses. I need someone who is willing to take on a permanent position, who does not run in the same heat as me, and is willing to become familiar with the safety rules and general rules used by the SCCA.
This is a job, and it is a very necessary job.

This isn't a walk-up assignment. If you want to learn more about how a properly run autocross works, this is a good place to start.
If you want to show up, make your runs and go home, be sure to thank the people who make it happen.
