Default Looking for Shop to Replace Slashed Soft Top

Thought I'd see if anyone on the board could recommend a good shop to replace my soft top. I don't trust the dealers as far as I could throw them (and with my bad back I shouldn't be throwing anybody).

Also, since this happened last night, and they left a gapping hole in it, the rain poured in all over the drivers seat and door panel. So a seat replacement may be in order as well.

Of course it was almost certainly little punk kids who did it. They didn't even unlock the doors and make an attempt to steal anything. A real thief would have at least rummaged through the car to look for valuables and popped the trunk to find the sub, enclosure and the amp it's plugged into.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I think it's a DIY that's a bit out of my league.

I am going to push hard for the seat replacement but I'm not sure how I could finagle a hard top out of the insurance company from a damaged soft top and interior parts.

I did the DIY soft top replacement and a retrofit to the glass window with Clovis' assistance. My original intention was to have a local Honda dealer make the swap but the dealer balked at the retrofit despite authorization and payment from AHM. The DIY swap / glass retrofit took nearly ten hours of labor. A replacement should not take quite as long. I ordered the soft top from Hardtopguy (Jeff) at a good discount.

I have replaced many soft tops for people in the club. I charge about half of what a shop will charge. I can do it in a day for $400. PM me if you are interested.

If you haven't found anyone to do it....
I can do it in about 3 hours for 200. Have done a few and gerryk will vouch for my work.
FYI, Honda usually quotes like 500-600 for the work and it takes them all day.

Well,

I'm going to get a quote from Service King today. I'm going to ask them to quote a new top, new drivers seat, new carpet and possibly some inpection/cleaning service to the eletrical in the door panel. If the insurance will cut a check to me then I can get some of this work done through other sources (or DIY) and save some $. If they will only work directly with the repair shop then I might be stuck going through them. I'll post later with more info.

Thanks.

Boo to Service King... my friend had a Grand Prix GTP go in for body work and got it back with 150 extra miles on it... and his MPG meter was tanked showing that they were driving it HARD, he complained to the manager (and he had the service tech note and sign the mileage when he dropped it off) but they didn't do anything about it, not even an apology. I don't know which location this was at, but I know I'll never take any of my vehicles to a S.K.
