Default mechanical problem

I've been burning oil for a few weeks now and I put more oil in it today for the first time. The engine was makin a clickin noise on the way home from school. So when i got home i put in 3 more quarts of oil and the clickin sound stopped and it runs just fine now. Most likely it's gonna burn oil again and the same thing will happen. I've read that the rings need to be replaced. Does anyone else have an opinion on what could fix the problem??. *Note that I am running an untuned vafc and the vehicle hasn't been driven hard in a while(cuase of damn gas prices )

Running with an untuned vafc doesn't had anything to do with burning 3qts of oil. Your car isn't burning the oil.....it drinking the oil, lol. Reason i am saying that isn't the vafc is that because i had noticed that you just recently dynoed the car and so i am pretty sure that the shop that you dynoed had the dyno graph sheet showing the a/f ratio on your car and they will let you know whether your car runing too lean or not even if you just doing the base dyno run, and if they don't then they aren't your friends .

Bottom line is that your S is starting to going South! My suggestion is that get in line and ask Todd to take a look at it for you since he is close to you. G/L man.

How about checking the oil more often before it gets 3 quarts low again? Damage is probably already done though.
