MSR Feb 5-6
Anyone signed up for the feb 5-6 D.E. at MSR w/ the drivers edge? I will be there w/ the GT3. Hope to see some of you guys/gals there. Gerry

A couple of my friends are signed up (the loud black '99 Firehawk and white '92 Z28 CMC car). I am not going to do any track events (except maybe one day with BMW) before Big Bend. I popped a motor 3 weeks before BBORR last year, and while it would be unlikely this year, I am not willing to chance it.

I'll be there in the Prelude. The Super Bowl doesn't start until after 4 right? If you have to watch it you could just skip your last session and make it back to town in time.

Alas! I had forgotten why I didn't sign up; all the events require a TX drivers license. I can't get my TX license because I do not have an original social security card.
Still trying to figure out how to get one of those... it was easier to get a passport!

Just a quick note on a related topic...
The next MSR event is April 2-3.
The next next MSR event is Sep 10-11.
April 2 is our second autocross.
The September event is a week after our 5th autocross.
How about we try for a group outing the Sep 10-11 weekend? That should be plenty of lead-time for people to sign up.
ps - Lane, I assume you have a social security number, eh?
The TX DMV won't take another state's DL, or a birth certificate, or a passport instead? Not like that little bit of paper does much to prove your identity. Heck, you would probably print one up yourself - it'll have your legal number on it, so it's not any sort of misrepresentation. My original SSN card is all sorts of worn and tattered - I'm 30 years old after all.
