[QUOTE=RyanDL,Oct 6 2005, 08:38 AM] Not to be a jackass, but wouldn't the obvious preventative in this situation have been to check your oil periodically between oil changes?

I never have relied on dummy lights (other than the gas gauge). However... I'm not willing to take a hit on this because no matter what, a car should not eat 3 qts of gas between oil changes. Someone mentioned earlier that their car eats about a

Thanks, man.

Well, here's my thought on that. Even if I could remember where I had it done, there is no way to prove/disprove how much they put in there.

The point as far as the warranty work is concerned isn't to try and prove how much oil was or wasn't put in, but to prove that you've had the car serviced properly, so it's definitely worth going and getting any records you can.

Just as a future note; never rely on anyone other than yourself to properly change your oil. This means checking the oil level after each change if you take it anywhere. I've had one car come back with 10 quarts and another come back with 1. And another place stripped the drain plug in the oil pan in my X 1/9 (cost them a new oil pan and labor to install).

I am calling the finance company in a little while to come repossess the car.

Unless anyone has a better idea.

I'm SOOOO sorry for you

At least give it a couple days... maybe you can think of something better??

It sounds like this should be an absolute LAST RESORT based on what rioyellows2k said. It sounds like you may be there (i.e. to the last resort point) - but

Maybe you can fight Honda - find a different dealer or talk to someone further up the chain or something?

Which dealer did you take it to (so I can avoid them ? ).
