NTS2K Fall Colors Drive
Fall Colors Drive 2003
Many of you have asked about the Fall Colors drive currently scheduled for October 18th. We are happy to say that we have made good progress in organizing this event. In addition to our club, we will be running the dirve with the Ark-La-Tex club!
We need your help picking a date! If you are interested in attending this drive we would like you to reply back with a date that is best for you. We are considering two dates:
-October 18th
-November 1st
Here is what we know so far about the drive - It has been suggested that we meet in Broken Bow, Ok as this is a central meeting location for those from East Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and the DFW group. From there we can drive to Beavers Bend State Park and after Beavers Bend, up 259 and into OK to the beginning of the Talimeana Trail. The Talimena Trail will take us to Mena, AR and from there on up to Waldron, AR. There are good places to eat an evening meal and plenty of nice hotels. Rates are about $49.00 per night and the hotel we are talking about is new. Sunday morning, we can make the drive to Magazine Mountain. That is a really beautiful drive with very twisty roads. When finished with Magazine Mountain, all will go our separate ways and we can arrive home before dark.

BTW, it has been brought to our attention that October 18th may be a bit too soon for the Fall Colors. Still a nice drive during that time but with less color.
That said, we have another two votes for November 18th via e-mail.
