Default OT: Member of my GF's forum threatens to sue...

My GF runs a small private forum on yorkies (dogs) and a member she suspended PM'ed her with this.

"I want an immediate reinstatement of my account with suspensions of Rxxxx,
xxxx Sxxxx, Kxxxx, Kxxxxx, at the very least in addition to an apology
thread where you apologize for your error and each of them sincerely
apologizes to me before they are reinstated.

I think this is fair. If you do not, I will, unfortunately, see you in
court.

Again, you are hereby put on notice not to delete, alter, modify or erase
any psts threads or PMs, rules or anything on the forum until this matter is
resolved."

LOL it makes me laugh but it also makes me wonder is that even possible to be sued over getting banned/suspended on a private forum? I know it is very highly unlikely but I cant help to wonder.

unless there was any sort of personal attacks or defamation, there is nothing she can do that would even remotely hold up in court. what on earth does she thinks the basis of her lawsuit would be?

people can be f'ing retarded.

have your gf pm her back and tell her to be ready in court since she just hired "the hammer" or one of those other crappy tv lawyers.

Private forums such as this have a Terms and Conditions you agree to when you register. If you do something unfit to the forum rules you can be suspended so your gf needs to tell that person to go eat it.

Yup, point said forum user to the site's terms and conditions policy. No lawyer would take such an assinine case anyway.

The funny thing is.. she claims she is a lawyer. When they searched the California database or whatever she didnt show up on it. Now she is claiming that she is being cleared and will be re-activated or somthing. Who knows... people are crazy these days.

I'd send a polite e-mail back saying "Bring on the lawsuit!"
