dwi - cthree was doing the man a favor, but then went back on his offer and refunded the agreed amount without contacting and trying to work out a deal. If ur in the business world, that's just shitty way to do business...

cthree could have pm'd before refund and gave a reason. ie miscommunication, misunderstanding, blah, whatever. Then the 2 parties could have proceeded from that point. Personally, based on the info given, I wouldn't want to do business with this site.

I wonder how well a thread like this would go over in the Seller Reviews subforum
He technically is a seller. Possibly create pressure for him to do the right thing.

I was not casting judgment on whether the business practice was right or wrong. It is what it is. What I am saying is no need to cry over spilt milk. There are alternative methods to getting marketed other than spending unneeded dollars on a low margin product such as keyhole covers.

Just leave it be, you'll get banned for smack talking the powers that own this site. It's just arrogance, he refunded you becasue doesn't NEED your money. It's not for someone else to decide who is doing whom a favor.

He wanted to become a site sponsor, and they didn't act like they wanted him to be a sponsor. Plain and simple.

Low Margin needs higher Volume - Thus the need for advertising. There was a demand for these in the past, and there might still be one.

And who's to say that Keyhole Covers is the ONLY thing that he will sell? You're assuming and deciding his fate, just like cthree did.

I'd put less energy in S2000 Keyhole covers and explore if other cars have unsightly keyholes (Lotus Elise! - Sorry Cosmos!) You have potential to increase your Margins. And you're less likely to see FS threads filled with "If I had the money" posts like you do here.

All I was saying was F the site owners in the ear if they don't want to do business with him. There are other ways to get product(s) out there. For under $250/year he could have his own website and market dozens of products for dozens of makes and models.

I agree, but: S2ki is a simple idea that creates a lot of money for the owner and probably doesn't need my measly $250. It also creates a very large market for specialized products like mine which. I do have a website, but I really have no way other than word of mouth to spread the word.

I was planning to sell more products that have much less margin than keyhole caps, but with the advertising not working out, that's out of the question.

Thanks Scott, I'll look in to em for Lotuses, but the difficult thing about the Elise is that there are even more colors with much smaller production numbers, although the income is probably a good deal higher.

Look into using Google Adwords to capitolize on your market. I bet you'll do better from that than trying to sell some caps here on S2ki.

You'll have access to Google's massive traffic, use the google adwords to sell Pay-per-click ads pointed towards your site, and setup a paypal acct and let the dollars roll in.

Win win and you don't have to deal w/ the BS politics of this site.
